Why Babies cry at Bath Time: There are many many reasons of baby crying at the bath time. First we need to know the type of screaming, weather baby cries in bathing from birth or he/she starts crying at bath time one day all of the sudden. May be the baby doesn’t cry everyday but sometimes he/she cries at bath time. For all the situations we need to deal with calmly, patiently and wisely.
Types of screaming:
- From birth: If Baby cries at bath time from very beginning means from birth then there is need to know how to give a safe and comfortable bath to the baby. Know Things to Remember when give Bath to your Baby. If your baby still screaming while bathing and you are following all the tips for safe and comfortable bath then try to let the baby play with bath tub without water, make him/her familiar with the tub, then next day fill water into the tub. Let him/her play with his/her cloths, let him/her chew the towel etc. You take a shower with him/her. Hold him/her in the shower with you; let the water splash over him. Make bathing enjoyable.
- One day suddenly start screaming: If your baby starts screaming all of the sudden and you feel unable to find any reason then first thing observe that what you have changed in the bathing process, or in bathing area, and revert it back. If it doesn’t work then try to change the location, change environment of bathing, may be he/she is recalling that bad experience of that sudden screaming bad day. If you now force him/her to have a bath even though he/she is screaming, this will just keep on making it worse. Is the Baby Over Tired: If you take your baby for bath when he/she is too tired then baby cries in bathing. Try to give bath earlier.
Is the Baby Hungry: Don’t give bath when the baby is hungry or have just fed.
Is the Baby feeling Cold: If baby is feeling cold when you removed his/her cloths then also babies cries. So make the bath room warm and then remove the baby’s cloths.
Is Water is too cold or too hot: Bathing water temperature should be correct, otherwise it will make baby uncomfortable.
Is the Baby feeling Safe: If the baby is feeling unsafe then also baby cries. Try co-bathing.
Is Soap giving some irritation in eyes, nose etc: Soap and shampoo should not go inside the baby’s eyes or nose. If you find that baby is feeling irritation with soap or shampoo wash I off with warm water immediately. You can use no tears soap and shampoos especially made for babies. Using shampoo hat is also a good option.
Is the Baby getting Bored: Give some bath toys to the baby. First make him/her familiar with those toys outside the bathroom, once he/she is familiar with then give hose toys while bathing.
Was the Baby interrupted for the Bath: If the baby got interrupted into some play or something else then also he/she starts crying while bathing.
